Raag Lanka Dahan Sarang readily manifests its form and mood by incorporating Dhaivat and Komal Gandhar in Avroh of Raag Brindavani Sarang. This is an old form not much in vogue today. It is a ticklingly dynamic melodic form with deployment of Shuddha Nishad in Aaroh.
Komal Gandhar is used as: D P R g R S – Desi style or R g R S – Jaijaivanti style. Very rarely, D n P is allowed and Dhaivat is used occasionally. In some Gharanas, Dhaivat is forbidden also in Avroh and some use only Nishad Komal instead of Both Nishads. The following combinations are illustrative in good rendering of Raag Lanka Dahan Sarang:
