Shri Prakash Vishwanath Ringe

Born on 20th August 1949 in Sagar, M.P., Shri Prakash Vishwanath Ringe has undergone rigorous training and got full guidance as a performer in Khayal Gayaki in Gwalior Gharana Style in Hindustani Classical Music Vocal from his father and Guru Acharya Vishwanath Rao Ringe ‘Tanarang’ since his childhood.

He Received ‘Surmani’ a Prestigious Award in Kal Ke Kalakaar Sangeet Sammelan, Mumbai in 1981. He also started performing Vocal Recitals in All India Radio since 1981. He has given successful performances in various cities in India like Mumbai, New Delhi, Nagpur, Lucknow, Indore, Nasik, Jaipur, Kota, Bhopal, Raipur, Gwalior, Rewa, Mandleshwar, Dhar etc.

In December 2003, he performed a Jugalbandi along with his younger brother Shri Vishwajeet V. Ringe in the prestigious Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, Gwalior organized by Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Academy, Bhopal. Apart from this the duo has performed various Jugalbandies at places like New Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Rewa, Sagar etc.

He is also the publisher of the Book ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 1’, ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 2’ and ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 3’ written by Acharya ‘Tanarang’, along with his brother Shri Vishwajeet V. Ringe. As was envisioned by Acharya Tanarang, Prakash Ji is working countless hours to bring the legacy and work of Acharya Tanarang in front of the Hindustani Classical Music Enthusiasts across the world.

He completed his B. Sc from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and M.Sc (Physics) from Indore University in 1970. He worked with Central Bank of India for 28 years as an officer. Apart from music he has keen interest in various sports.
