Born on 15th August 1961, Shri Vishwajeet V. Ringe is disciple and son of Acharya Vishwanath Rao Ringe ‘Tanarang’. He got rigorous training and full guidance from Acharya Tanarang, as a performer in Khayal gayaki in Gwalior Gharana Style.
In December 2003, he performed a Jugalbandi along with his elder brother Shri Prakash V. Ringe in the prestigious Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, Gwalior organized by Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Academy, Bhopal. He also performed Jugalbandies along with his elder brother Shri Prakash V. Ringe, at various places like Bhopal, Rewa, Indore and New Delhi etc.
Apart from these Jugalbandies, he has given successful performances in various cities in India like New Delhi, Bhopal, Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar etc. Few among them were at India International Centre, New Delhi, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, Sangeet Sandhya Noida, Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha, New Delhi etc.
He is also the publisher of the Book ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 1’, ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 2’ and ‘Acharya Tanarang ki Bandishen Vol 3’ written by Acharya ‘Tanarang’, along with his elder brother Shri Prakash V. Ringe. As was envisioned by Acharya Tanarang, Vishwajeet Ji is working countless hours to bring the legacy and work of Acharya Tanarang in front of the Hindustani Classical Music Enthusiasts across the world. It was his initial idea to make a database and a website for all the Bandishen to preserve the works of Acharya Tanarang.
He has created an YouTube channel called Raaga Tutorials, suitable for beginners, where he teaches basics of a Raag and how to make Taans and Aalaps.
He recently retired from the position of Senior Technical Director at National Informatics Center (NIC), New Delhi. He is M.Sc. (Statistics), P.G.Diploma Holder in Statistical Quality Control & Operations Research from Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata and MBA (Finance) from Indore University.
